Problem

Based on earlier techniques developed by Susumu Tonegawa, who was recognized as sole recipient of a Nobel Prize in 1987, a paper published together with Nobumichi Hozumi was pivotal to opening up the understanding of how there can be diverse combinations of antibodies. Answer the following questions describing the experiments related to determination of antibody diversity. (See Classic Experiment Box?6-1:?DNA Recombination of Immunoglobulin Genes Occurs in Somatic Cells in Kuby Immunology.)
