Suraiya's story Suraiya is a 34-year-old entrepreneur who lives with her husband and two children in the Tamale Metro district in Ghana. With her previous Kiva loan, she expanded her grocery business. She used the profit she earned to reinvest into her business.

Suraiya is now requesting another loan to purchase a variety of stock to meet her customers demand and increase her profit margin. She plans to use the profit she earns to reinvest in her business and support her family's needs.

She will repay the social interest on her second loan by volunteering 2.5 hours per week as a Camfed Business Mentor, leading sessions to teach less- experienced local women how to become successful entrepreneurs by developing their business acumen, and by sharing the lessons she has learned from operating her business.
