Problem: (Flatt, 2011) claims that the "cheese sandwich" (Flatt, 2011, p. 4). method can be viewed as "patronizing and insincere" (Flatt, 2011, p. 4), yet in my experience it seems to be commonplace. In fact I have even worked in situations where this method was not only encouraged, but expected. Yet, the author makes some strong points as to why this isn't the most effective form of feedback.
