Assignment:

You are a graduating student in industrial relations and are being interviewed for the position of Industrial Relations Associate (Entry Level Position) with a local municipality whose workers are represented by the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE). The successful candidate will report to the Manager of Industrial Relations. Some of the key components of the job include:

· Conducting research (e.g. collective bargaining, grievance issues, arbitration cases, wage trends, etc.)

· Maintaining and updating industrial relations documents, databases and files;

· Providing input and recommendations for changes to industrial relations procedures and practices; and
