Formulate arguments and to critically analyse the concepts of strategic HRD. Students are required to investigate examples of best practice in organizational learning & training,and to identify trends or issues of relevance to HRD, analyse alternatives and give two recommendations.

The assignment will be in two parts:

Part 1

Short Paper: 15%uploaded on Moodle through Turnitinby onegroup member only.

Research and write a 1500 word paper on the topic below.

"Why organisations should invest in human resources development: Is

Investing in your own peoplebetter than outsourcing".

For your short paper you should consider:
•The issue or trend addressed in different articles that you read through.
•Why you believe this issue or trend is significant to the practice of HRD
•The impact you think it will have on the practice of HRD in organizations in relation to the adult learning principles.
And
•Make two recommendations or actions you believe an HR manager or HR/HRD professional should follow to deal with the issue by investigating the latest trends inHRD in organisational learning and training.
•Explain and support your recommendations.

Revise the Final Draft
•Check overall organization:logical flow of introduction, coherence and Depthof discussion in body, effectiveness of conclusion.
•Paragraph level concerns:topic sentences, sequence of ideas within paragraphs, use of details to support generalizations, summary sentences where necessary, use of transitions within and between paragraphs.
•Sentence level concerns:sentence structure, word choices, punctuation, and spelling.

•Documentation:consistent use of one system, citation of all material not considered common knowledge, appropriate use of references.

Presentation:
