Tour Paper- Colorado History

You will choose an historic destination and tour it. Your destination may be a museum, historic district or house, building, neighborhood, attraction, business, cemetery, or any location that interests you (Pre-2000). Your choice may be in the Metro area, or anywhere in the state. If you are stuck, check D2L for ideas- there is a list of ideas!!!

Your Paper: You will begin by researching your choice. What is interesting about your choice? Why is it important to Colorado history? Include the ‘who, what, when, where, why and how' of your destination. Researching your choice is important, especially if you do a self-guided tour. Consider creating a plan for your tour, so that you are not running willy-nilly. Also, if your choice is administered, check for hours of operation, fees etc. Also, be prepared to write down your observations and any questions that may arise as you tour. If you choose a museum or tour with a guide, remember to write a list of questions before you go, so that you are prepared ahead of time to learn about you choice or location. Write a 750 word essay about the tour and what you learned. Give a brief description of your tour choice and experience, and then discuss what you learned and your impressions. Remember to cite your sources, including your guide, if you have one.
