According to the National Institute of Mental Health (2015), nearly 30% of American adults will suffer from diagnosed anxiety in their lifetime (with those rates rising each year). There are different classifications and forms of anxiety, but in general what symptoms and complications does this mental disorder present with? Why is this disorder continuing to become more prevalent with each year passing?

If you research treatments for anxiety, you'll find a wide variety of options. Medically, there is a wide variety of prescription medications (along with their generic forms) used to treat these conditions including: Prozac, Zoloft, Celexa, Effexor, Xanax, and Paxil. Research the pros and cons, and efficacy of these medications in the treatment of anxiety. Are these medications the best option for treatment of anxiety, or are there better treatments? Justify your reasoning with your research.
