In the First Teaching of the Bhagavad-Gita, many telling references are made to Arjuna's physical revulsion againstfighting. In the Second Teaching, Krishna explains the difference between "manifest" and "unmanifest" states, using the metaphor of worn-out clothes. In the Sixth Teaching, Krishna describes the man of perfect discipline in physical as well as spiritual terms. And in the Eleventh Teaching, Krishna presents himself to Arjuna in terrifying physical form.
