Context

Chapter introduces Value Theory, the philosophical investigation of values. The rest of the chapters in the book all engage with issues of value, moral theory, theoretical and applied ethics, and political and social philosophy.

One area of value theory that is just touched on in this book is aesthetics.

Respond to the following writing prompt. Take particular notice of the part of the assignment that asks you to explain why the object of your essay is aesthetically valuable. The question isn't just, "Why is it valuable?". The question you need to answer is, "Why is it aesthetically valuable?". In order to answer this part of the prompt, you will need to spend at least some of your essay explaining what aesthetic value means.
