Question: As Vice President of Engineering, Consuela has always had a position of power in her organization. Senior executives would ask her for her opinion on their strategies and plans for the company. Last month, the company hired a new Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Consuela is very upset about this hire. She feels that having a new executive in the company who is a higher level than she is will damage her relationships with the other executives. Why is Consuela resisting change?
