1. Red-green color blindness is a recessively inherited disorder that affects 7% of the male population but only 0.4% of the female population. Given what is known about disease inheritance and gender determination, why is color blindness so much more common in men than women?

2. Having brown eyes is dominant to having blue eyes. What are all the possible parental combinations that would produce a child with blue eyes? List the parental combinations as [Parent 1 genotype] [Parent 2 genotype]. Use the letters "B" and "b" to designate dominant and recessive alleles, respectively. As an example, note that "BB bb" is equivalent to "bb BB"; thus, it is necessary to list only one, not both.
