Can someone explain to me why hypercalcemia cause a increase of blood pressure and heart rate but also muscle weakness and fatigue? It seems contradictory and I can not understand.

Calcium channel blockers are use for the treatment of arrythmias and hypertension.

I am a little confused in regards to the effects of calcium as it relates to blood pressure, the heart, neurons and muscle cells.

Also if someone could explain how it related to the thyroid.
