Problem: Why does society appear to promote/encourage discrimination based on social class (money) while discrimination based on race, ethnicity, gender, etc. is not? Discrimination based on race, gender, disability, etc. appear to violate our social norms. Those unable to pay will be left out. Is social class an ascribed (born into) or achieved (merit) status? Social class is defined as a ranking based on wealth, income, education, prestige, and general privilege and life chances. By the way, if you decide to discuss "individual responsibility" or that "those who work hard deserve more" explain why that is the case, given racial/gender/age/disability inequality, etc. Stay away from normative or moral "shoulds.
