Question: The U.S. Supreme Court recently narrowly interpreted the Clean Water Act's coverage of wetlands to only adjoining wetlands. This means that the new test reduces 68% of the protected water ways in the United States. The court's ruling means that long-regulated adjacent wetlands are no longer protected and are subject to pollution, and flooding. The U.S. Supreme Court has effectively re-written what has been forty-five years of process and procedure that negatively impacts the health, welfare and safety of our nation and the water supply. Congress must immediately pass laws that would protect these water-ways. Why do you believe the U.S. Supreme Court narrowed the rule?
