Question: With a partner, students will brainstorm possible topics for a short informational article. They should be timely, debatable, and significant to your school or local community or have national importance. Then, on your own, select an issue from your brainstorm list. Examine relevant informational sources and choose two or three that are appropriately bias-free, credible, and accurate. After finding your sources, answer the following questions for each source:
1. What is your topic? How is this topic significant to your school, local community, or nation?
2. What sources (3) have you identified that will aid in your research and writing?
3. Why do you believe each source is trustworthy?
4. Answer the 4W's and H about the topic. (Who? What? When? Where? Why? How?)
5. Copy at least 1 significant quote from each source regarding the topic.
