Why do some people deny climate change

1. Why do some people deny climate change, despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary?

2. The people who deny climate change are, almost without exception, not experts in the field (meaning they don't have enough information to form a scientific assessment). This, under ordinary circumstances, seems like something people would avoid doing (we hope). What specifically is it that causes a person to be willing to hold assessments on something they don't know in one case, but not in others (for example, most people I know don't act like they know brain surgery when they don't!)

3. If you happen to be one of the persons who denies that climate change is happening, human caused, and a threat (which you are welcome to do, just please always be open and honest!), comment on why you hold this position, using whatever evidence you have.
