Topic: Fear of Public Speaking Merriam-Webster dictionary defines glossophobia as fear of public speaking and it is real for majority of us. In fact, The National Institute of Mental Health reports that public speaking anxiety, or glossophobia, affects about 73% of the population. It can affect us physically, mentally, or emotionally, some slightly and others on a full panic mode. With statistics like that, I think it is safe to say that we can empathize with anyone giving public speech. In the business world, presentations are common and inevitable. How then, might we be better prepared to reduce anxiety, panic, or nervousness?
