Assignment:

Why do you think it is difficult for inmates to succeed after they are released from jail or prison? Why do inmates have such a high rate of recidivism? Using your book, discuss some of the reasons listed and talk about some possible solutions to this issue. I need specific examples from the book or other sources based in fact, not just your ideas alone! Recidivism is a huge issue in the United States, not only in financial terms but to the overall success of the criminal justice system.

You are the future of Criminal Justice and one day you very well may be in charge of this sort of policy. Once again, I'm not setting limits on this assignment, but if you give me a paragraph or less then don't expect full points. I want you to use your thoughts, ideas, and emotions to enhance the limited scope of content I'm giving you. I'm proud of all of you and the work you have put into this class!
