Assessment Description
As a careers adviser to business analytics students in USA, these students are seeking assistance in the types of organisations they should approach as they near graduation, in order to secure future employment. You are to analyse the datasets provided and generate visualisations and statistics to assist students with their analytics career prospects.
Once these visualisations and statistics have been prepared, you are tasked with developing a presentation to inform these business analytics students about how they can improve their chances of finding a job in business analytics in a productive and efficient way. Your analysis should focus on generating clear, actionable insights.
There is a need to provide a general overview of employment prospects for business analytics students based on the data set provided.
Assessment Instructions
Please refer to the assessment marking guide to assist you in completing all the assessment criteria. You do not require additional references for this assessment except as suggested in the marking brief.
To assist you in this task, suggested slides are as follows:
Slide 1 Explain each of the data fields in the data set provided. Present this data set as a data dictionary. Do not copy the data dictionary in Kaggle, but provide your own data dictionary.
Slide 2: Use a bar chart to display the more common industries in which Business Analytics professionals are employed. Create a second chart on the same infographic canvas to interact with this bar chart, in order to provide more depth of insight.
Slide 3: Filter the data set to find the US cities where more "entry level" business analytics roles are found. Use a count statistic and display the more frequent cities infographically.
Slide 4: Find a difference between the roles that obtain more than 200 applicants and those roles that obtain fewer applicants? Report this difference using a measure of central tendency - mean, medial or mode? Why did you choose this measure of central tendency? What is the implication of these findings for business analytics students?
Slide 5: In which months are more positions posted? Support your finding with a frequency distribution of when jobs are posted.
Slides 6, 7, 8: Generate three (3) questions of your own to unlock further insights with this data set. Present these insights infographically.
Slides 9 & 10: Provide a commentary on your key insights and advice to business analytics students for employment opportunities in USA. Provide examples of how this commentary would differ if you were addressing potential employers, rather than analytics students.
