Kelly is a construction worker who appears to be physically fit. The crew chief, Biff, has mentioned that Kelly was 3 to 5 minutes late last week to her job, and he has complained that Kelly seems to have low energy lately. Today, a coworker of Kelly's ran to Biff claiming that Kelly passed out. Upon arrival at the construction site where Kelly was assigned, Kelly is sitting on the ground, pale, sweating profusely, and although conscious, she appears a bit unfocused. Kelly looked sluggish about a half-hour ago, and she bought a soft drink to perk up. Kelly has a heart rate of 125, and she states that she feels twitchy, nauseated, and anxious. Using a glucometer, it is determined that her blood sugar is 50. Biff asks to see the soft drink can that was given to Kelly. It was a sugar-free soft drink. Kelly's coworkers tell Biff that Kelly has been skipping breakfast in order to arrive on time lately.
