Why are you personally a fan of sports

Question: Some may argue that sports is a huge part of the U.S. culture. When we talk about sports we may think about NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL and MLS. Are you personally a fan of sports? If so, why? If not, why not?

Some people argue that professional sports and politics do not mix. In other words if you play professional in order to receive a paycheck then a player's opinion should not involve "using a platform" in order to bring up issues that are wrong in this country. Do you believe that players should stick to sports or should they use their platform to possibly make a difference?
