Question: Jane Doe (18), who has no prior criminal record, killed her five year old nephew after he may (or may not) have witnessed her boyfriend commit a crime. Jane Doe did not make any statements to police. Jane is charged with first degree murder in Arizona (where the crime occurred). Her defense attorney pleads insanity. What rule applies?
