Preparation of the Patient

2 Who performs the identification of the patient when he or she is brought into Interventional Radiology?
3. What data is reviewed by the nurse when the patient is brought into the room? Why?
4. Who transfers the patient from the stretcher to the cardiac catheterization table? What safety precautions are taken during the transfer?
5. What is the nurse's role during sedation induction?
6. What team members participate in the National Patient Safety Goal of using "Universal Protocol"? Identify elements of the protocol that protect the safety of the patient?
7. What special equipment is used to position the patient for the procedure? What safety precautions are taken?
8. What skin preparation is done before the procedure and what is the purpose?
