You are a school social worker who received a referral for Aaron, a nine-year-old Black male student in 4th grade. Aaron's teacher has been concerned for some time about the student's classroom behavior and academic performance. According to the teacher, Aaron is often disruptive in class, acts aggressively towards other students, and is impulsive. The teacher reports that numerous homework assignments are missing and he has problems completely classroom tasks in a timely manner. Aaron's attendance at school is minimal; he has missed at least 10 days since school began on September 4.
1. What is the situation - what is the context? Consider:
