The patient is alert and oriented and is having serious second thoughts about whether or not they want to go ahead with this procedure. The patient confides these thoughts to the nurse and says that they understand that they have already consented to the procedure, so they guess it's too late now. The nurse reassures the patient that it is not too late to change their mind. She suggests to the patient that will notify the provider and ask them to come back to speak with the patient before proceeding any further.
