Problem: Income Inequality
Pick a social problem that you are most passionate about. This will be the topic for your Passion Project as we move forward in the class.
The project will be research based with scientific and scholarly evidence. It is not a project to convey personal opinions. Your project must use evidence-based arguments from the discipline of Sociology, or other interdisciplinary areas. The best public sociology must be bias free and objective. This is how we perform public sociology.
Provide a description of your passion topic that includes the following:
a) The sociological importance of your topic and the primary arguments noted in the science;
b) The public audience who can benefit from learning more about this topic;
c) Generally, who holds the power and privilege in this topic; and
d) Cite at least four articles with evidence on this topic. Three of these should be scholarly articles and one can be from a credible media source (i.e. newspaper, online newspaper, etc.). The scholarly articles should be relatively recent - published no later than 2000.
