Question
Jane asked her friend Dennis, who describes himself as an 'Insurance Consultant', to give her some advice about insuring a classic car she has recently purchased. Dennis told Jane that he would "treat her just the same as any other client". Dennis took some details and filled in a proposal form that was sent to AB Ltd, a specialist classic car insurer, and a policy was issued by AB Ltd. Dennis failed to check the details with Jane prior to sending off the proposal form. The proposal form contained some inaccuracies.
