The "miracle on the Hudson" was the ditching of US Airways Flight 1549 in the Hudson River a short time after take-off due to engine failure. The passengers who "suffered real losses and injuries" are being denied compensation. Although luggage and other personal belongings that have been found have been returned to passengers, the insurance company is playing hardball on non-recovered items because airline liability insurance looks for negligence on the part of an airline and "if there's no negligence, then there's no liability, and no obligation to pay claims."
