Wheel 1 of mass M rolls down a slope. Wheel 2 of the same mass M slides down the same slope (ignore friction).
1. Which wheel will acquire larger total KE(Kinetic Energy)?
2. Which wheel will acquire larger translational KE?
3. Which of the wheels will get down first?
4. Is the translational kinetic energy of Wheel 2 equal to the rotational kinetic energy of Wheel 2 at the bottom?
5. Is the translational kinetic energy of Wheel 1 larger than the rotational kinetic energy of Wheel 1 at the bottom?
I would like to get an answer and its explanation for five questions above.
More specific and intuitive solution would be appreciated.
