They have, to be sure, significantly contributed to our understanding of psychopathology; however, as mental health help becomes more accessible and more people from diverse cultures seek counselling services, these therapies must be adapted with relevant culture-sensitive frames of reference. For example, working with Indigenous clients might incorporate collaborating with tribal Shamans. Select one of the therapies you have studied during your MACP training - perhaps one you find particularly appealing. Explore what adaptations you anticipate making to that therapy modality on behalf of an under-served group in your local community.
