Assignment:

So the contraction of the uterus after birth and expulsion of placenta prevent blood loss due to the constriction of the blood vessels. Are the blood vessels in the chorionic/placental villi expelled with the placenta or are those the ones that stay in the mother? Which vessels need to be constricted to prevent blood loss (mom's or fetus's)? And what happens to the vessels days post partum? Do they just completely close off or stay constricted forever?
