Problem: Felipe, a 26-year-old male, who comes into the medical office for a rash that does not seem to go away. The onset was 2 weeks ago, with an erythematous rash at the abdominal level. The rash appears today as erythematous papules and squamous salmon-colored plaques, clearly marked and covered by thick, silvery-white scales, easily exfoliating, all over at the level of: scalp, limbs, torso (back) and axillary areas. Denies fever, denies pain, denies pruritis. He has tried over the counter creams but they seem to only make it more irritated and red.Given what you know about Felipe's skin disorder, which 1-2 functions of the skin are most in danger?
