Case: The United States is facing an ongoing problem with immigration. This documentary focuses on children who are separated from their families as they cross the United-States-Mexico border. People from all around the world migrate to other countries in search of a better future. Oftentimes, it is due to dire circumstances. Many immigrants can become separated from their families and end up along in a strange country. Migration is something that impacts many families.

For this assignment, you are to watch Separated: Children at the Border documentary and write an essay of a mininum of 500 words. Identify causes that would push families to migrate to the United States and the consequences they face once they cross the border. Apply one of the sociological theories from last week's assignment to a topic presented in the film. Your discussion should include ways in which the theory accounts for migrational factors, both causes, and consequences.
