Assignment:

Introduction: It's easier to assume that everyone sees the world as we do than it is to learn all the different ways in which the world can be seen. But that doesn't mean we shouldn't try to better recognize the ways in which cultures can experience health differently.

Step 1: Find the social media accounts of THREE international health organizations, such as the World Health Organization, United Nations, Doctors Without Borders, The Peace Corp, and UNICEF, among many others.

Step 2: Spend time looking through all the posts that the accounts have made over the last month-this includes reading the text, not just looking at the pictures.

Step 3: After you review three accounts, write a post reflecting on the information your saw and what you learned. In your post, consider at least TWO of the common themes across the accounts and answer the following questions (Your response should be at least two hundred and fifty words):

• What topics were discussed most?
• Were there particular groups, communities, cultures, or regions that were discussed most often?
• For each of the common themes, how did they compare to your priorities and experiences over the last month (i.e., were you also worried about these health topics or communities or were these themes different from your priorities)?
• In addition, note the extent to which the posts extended beyond a Eurocentric lens, including image selection and language use.
• Finally, what have you learned about other cultures after reading these posts?
