Assignment:

For this activity, each small group is required to form a patient-nurse scenario in which the central components of Kolcaba's Comfort Theory are demonstrated. Within your small groups, assign each member their role and responsibility in the creation of the nurse-patient scenario. It will be important that you define basic ideas (who is the patient, what are the basic circumstances and contexts) so that as each member tries to bring in additional pieces of information, the scenario hangs together.

Each member is responsible for ensuring that one of the contexts (physical, psychospiritual, environmental, or sociocultural) or one of the constructs (relief, ease, transcendence) is fully, accurately, and creatively represented in the scenario. The best approach to this is to send ideas back and forth as you begin to add context so that everyone knows how your scenario may begin to come alive with detail related to CT.
