Case: CFU: WHERE TO LOCATE THE PARKING GARAGE?
Coastal Florida University needs to erect a parking garage for students, faculty, and visitors. Total enrollment is currently about 10,000 students and is expected to double during the next decade. The garage has a planned capacity of 1,000 cars. From a survey, it is estimated that 30 percent of the arrivals to campus go to the Business School and adjacent buildings; 40 percent go to the engineering complex; 20 percent go to the University Center area; and 10 percent go to the administrative offices (see campus map below and note the scale on both axes). Four potential sites (A, B, C, and D) are being considered.
