Questions: Write a poem where you respond to one of the poems we have read or watched. You are not being asked to be a perfect poet, but to have fun and engage in a critical or mirrored response to one of the readings through the same genre of writing. Rely on the Spoken Word and Response Poetry videos for inspiration and examples and try to incorporate some of the poetic devices we learned about last week.
Write paragraph where you answer the following questions/prompts to accompany your poem:
In the book "Beloved", how does the lack of identity and segregation of the slaves make them invisible to history?
What is a short and easy summary of the Eumenides play? Also what is a short reflection about a theme the play expanded on?
Choose one short story and one play that you believe share a similar theme, and write an essay that explains how both works deal with this theme
Continue the exact sentence below by putting in a common example and explain how those examples justify what is being said in the first sentence
Identify a specific concern, issue, or problem that the text raises; consider whether or not you agree or disagree with the author's position on the issue
How does the grandmother's property at the pawn shop help to define the narrator's desires and feeling of obligation to recover it? Why is it so important
Is "right livelihood," "physical genius," or "chunking" on display at McDonalds? Why or why not? Come to class with a written list of an example or counter example for all terms, with page numbers.
Create an informative speech thesis and main points by identifying three communication topics. Identify two speech subtopics within each of those three main topics, therefore having a total of 6 ideas in list.
Identify the reading from this week which resonated the most with you. Discuss your reaction or connection to the piece.
Develop presentation skills for use in professional environment. Deliver professional information to various audiences using appropriate tone, style and format.
