The importance of leadership with respect to project success or failure is quiet obvious due to the studies done by many researchers in concern which proved this phenomenon. Leadership and project management are mutually related and cannot be separated since they impact directly the project outcomes (Shenhar et al., 2002).

Also, the roles of the leader were defined in the context of project management as a requirement for project excellence Kerzner (1987), a controller for project culture Shore (2008) and a path to change (Patterson, 2010). Noting that the leadership is a combination of acquired skills and built in charisma. However, in many projects, there exist either project managers or project leaders and not both.

Which one handle projects more efficiently leader or project manager,and why? (with appropriate references please)
