His admit diagnosis includes a fractured right radius and contusion to his right upper thorax. There is no evidence of head trauma. The patient's respiratory rate is 30 breaths/min, his BP is 140/85, and pulse rate is 110 bpm. The resident physician on call requests that a neuromuscular blocking agent is administered to accomplish intubation of this patient.
