One of the more important concepts you hopefully acquired in Introduction to Sociology is the idea that correlation is not necessarily causation. In other words, just because two factors vary together does not mean that one necessarily caused the other. We are going to tackle that premise with a look at no-fault divorce laws in the United States and the rising divorce rate in the 1970s and 1980s illustrated below. For your written assignment this module, agree with and defend your position.

Topic : The liberalization of divorce laws in the 1970s that made 'no-fault' divorce (in which neither party had to prove infidelity, abuse, or abandonment) possible drove the drive in divorce rates that ensued.
