OVERVIEW
Proverbs 27:17 (NASB, 95) states, "As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another." Leaders learn from other leaders. Please interview a Christian leader who is employed (full-time or bi-vocational) in ministry work (such as a pastor, staff member, camp director, denominational leader, missionary, Christian charity worker, etc.)
INSTRUCTIONS
The interview must be written up in a transcript-style that includes the questions asked in the interview.
Your paper must include a brief paragraph that briefly introduces the Christian leader you are interviewing. Your paper will conclude with a page summary of what you learned from this interview. In total, the paper should be about three or four pages and must be written in current Turabian format.
The paper must include the following questions and areas of discussion:
1. Briefly describe your ministry. What makes it unique and appealing?
2. Which ministry responsibility do you enjoy the most? Why?
3. Which ministry duty do you enjoy the least? Why?
4. Describe the amount of time you spend in an average week in planning and meetings.
5. Describe the amount of time you spend in an average week involved in practical ministry.
6. Describe the amount of time you spend in an average week on personal devotions and prayer.
7. What is an area of ministry that you wish you had been taught about or better trained for?
8. How do you handle conflict within your ministry?
9. What practical advice would you give for strategic planning in ministry?
10. Describe how you balance ministry and family.
11. What are some of the challenges that ministry families encounter?
12. What are some benefits or rewards that ministry families encounter?
13. What practical suggestions would you give to someone else in your position for maintaining your marriage in the midst of ministry?
14. What practical suggestions would you give to someone else in your position about being a parent in the midst of ministry?
15. Explain how you handle ministry crisis or unusual difficulties. What practical suggestions would you give for someone facing a ministry emergency?
Additionally, you must provide 5 of your own questions to ask the ministry leader that you are interviewing. The questions should be related to the topics of: marriage/family and ministry, leadership and ministry, or personal integrity and ministry.
