Situation1 :
You are the supervisor of a company where you are leading a team of 7 members. Your group is assigned to complete the construction of the houses for the poor in the slum areas. Hennery is a chief engineer; he is with a strong personality and does not coordinate with the team. He goes beyond the scope of the work and promises several unnecessary commitments to the community. Your project does not allow any further support. However, you are bound to build 30 houses in 30 days. Assistant engineer Ms. Amy who works with Hennery comes to you and shares about the issue; if things continue, all the team member efforts end. There is no chance that you will complete the project on time.
Question to consider: Please find the best solutions; how do you handle the situation, which leadership skills you implement, and why?
Situation 2: Mathew was turned down for the winter shift assignment that he wanted. This assignment is closer to Mathew's home than the main residency, but it is only open in the winter. A particular crew worker with more seniority than Mathew was given the assignment instead. Mathew grieved because he felt that special crew workers were not supposed to displace residency workers. Mathew has just been notified that his grievance was denied. Mathew is still upset and does not accept the reasons for the denial of his grievance. You feel you need to explain things to Mathew to keep up his morale.
Question to consider: What do you say to him as a leader
Situation3: You are supervising a crew and have been assigned a complex and lengthy job repairing a bridge. You find your team all together in the break room. You start to tell them about the job, and one of them interrupts you, points to William, and says that the crew doesn't want to work around him. The rest of the crew is silent. Some of them look like they agree; some look like they are just waiting for your reaction.
Question: As a leader, how do you handle the situation; which leadership style do you consider? What do you do next?
