1)      The structure shown below is loaded by a load, P, which is co-linear with member 3.  Find the components u1c, u2c of the displacement of the node C.  All members have the properties E, I, and A.  Ignore shear deformation.  Note the hinge at node C.

2) The originally 1000 mm x 1000 mm square plate undergoes deformation such that it is in a uniform, plane strain state.  The displacements at notes A, C and C are as shown in the figure. 

a) determine the displacement field that will result in the specified deformations.
