My idea of incentive is that the amount of money is directly related to whether or not the work is successful. Incentives are elements that enable employees to be motivated and empowered by the work they are involved in. Whether it is my own performance or the performance of my group, I cannot be motivated to work without incentives, and we all need them. A typical example of an incentive would be that if an employee working as a sales representative for a company receives 100 orders in a month, this employee will be given an incentive of $100.
In my company, there was a time when all employees participated in a campaign to eliminate waste in their daily work in the production lines. Employees brought ideas to drastically reduce the waste and they received incentives. However, this system suddenly disappeared. The reason for the sudden stop was unclear, but my thought was that perhaps the management wanted to increase recurring profits and thus reduce expenses. During this campaign, many employees participated in the activities, and I thought their motivation was awesome. The campaign did not require any monetary incentives, but a point system could be introduced to encourage employees to come up with ideas. If an employee finds an idea and accumulates 10 points, he is given one day off with pay.
