Problem: I would describe my childhood temperament would be in the Easy category. According to my parents, I very quickly adapted into a certain sleep/wake pattern and slept through the night, was not very fussy, and was very social and welcoming to most new situations. I also learned to talk and read very early on, and would read to my parents and had no issues meeting new people or being in an unfamiliar place. However, I did and still do get distracted easily. Rothbart's theory of effortful control reflects a child's ability to self regulate emotions and a child's attention. I've retained my social skills which has made me good at public speaking, and still can meet and talk to new people with ease. It's also helped in managerial roles I've worked in. However, those skills did help feed into a short attention span. As I mentioned before, I could get distracted from a task easily and still can today. I practice mindfulness/meditation and try my best to adhere to a schedule to I can stay on track and do what needs to be done.
