Problem- An aliquot of a solution containing a pure beta particle emitter is counted in a liquid- scintillation counter, while an equal aliquot is evaporated and counted with a thin window G-M counter. The observed background-corrected counting rates were 5835 ± 70 cpm and 32020 ± 215 cpm.
