Problem

Social stratification is the process by which communitites or society is organized into layers or strata, basically it is a ranking of hierarchy based on wealth, race, occupation, education, etc. People are ranked based on socio-economic status and this provides them with certain resources and privileges. Social class is basically taking the hierarchy apart and seeing who is in which area and these are people who fall within the same "social class" such as lower class, middle class, high class, all based o nthe same thing such as wealth, education, occupation, etc. These roles play a role in society by influencing power in people in certain postions such as being able to afford to run for mayor, senate, etc. These people In power can help change the policies in place that need to be changed. Disadvantages of social class could be lack of rescoures to things if theyre in lower class, less power for those people who can not afford or have the resources to get into a postion to where they can.
