Logic and Rhetoric Assignment -
Textbook - Gessell, B. (2021) Logic and rhetoric. MyEducator, LLC.
Respond to the following in a minimum of 175 words:
This week, we learned about rhetoric, which is the art and skill of persuasion. Rhetoric includes logic but goes beyond it to include other techniques for convincing people. Thinking about rhetoric involves asking questions like these: Why is it important to determine who the audience is before developing a message? Which aspects of a speaker's presentation add to their message? Which aspects of a speaker's presentation take away from their message?
Persuasive speakers and writers do more than just generate good arguments-they offer those arguments to others in ways that capture their attention and allow their message to have an impact. Answer the following questions:
Share a time when you delivered a successful persuasive presentation at work or perhaps a time when you succeeded in convincing a colleague or manager that you had the skills to complete a difficult task.
What did you do in developing the presentation or when delivering the message that contributed to your success?
In those successes, how did your way of presenting messages and arguments complement what you said?
