I wish we knew the comments that are leading Darla to believe that Mike is acting unethically. Being told secondhand comments would not be sufficient reason to start an ethical investigation but it would be enough to talk to Mike about it. While it would be an awkward conversation, I'd encourage Darla to have it as soon and as directly as possible. Mike's demeanor and response to that discussion would direct Darla's next steps be it to watch and wait or report it to their mutual supervisor. If she tells her supervisor and they do not act on her concerns, there could be ethical and legal ramifications. However, whether or not the supervisor acts on her concerns is not something Darla may be privy to knowing as it ought to be handled confidentially.
