How does HIT effect patient care outcomes?

• Discuss your thoughts on how healthcare organizations and clinicians can go about engaging patients in the healthcare process. How does HIT play a role in this process?

• If you were a patient at a healthcare organization, how would the healthcare employees interact with you? Where would your group's HIT product fit into the process?

First step is to explore what you think you know and/or understand about a topic. Then, identify what assumptions and biases you may have about the topic. Once these have been identified, you might question them and analyze what might be influencing your assumptions.

The next step is testing your assumptions as you go along. Then, evaluate your learning. Compare and contrast your assumptions and biases with the content. Were there changes, confirmations, further delineations, and so on? Evaluate the significance, relevance, and meaning between the content and your experiential learning; making connections between content, learning, and practice.
